| Submission Guidelines Tainted Tea accepts short stories, narrative poetry, all forms of printed art, short comics, and flash fiction. Though we know horror isn't all monsters chasing large-breasted women, submissions must evoke fear, shock, tension, etc.
All work must be original and created by the writer/artist. We will accept work that has been previously published as long as the creator owns the rights.
Please email all queries or submissions with the title of work(s) in the subject line to TaintedTea.Editors@gmail.com. We apologize, but we cannot accept anything sent by snail mail.

Short Story Guidelines
Though there is no specific length, we would prefer short stories under 10 pages (approximately 2,500 words), double-spaced, in a professionally accepted font. Please include: your name or pseudonym, the title, and the number of words on the first page of the story. On each page of the story, include your name or pseudonym and the page number. Please email as a .DOC, .RTF or .DOCX attachment.
Narrative Poetry Guidelines
We apologize, but we are no longer accepting poetry submissions.
Printed Art Guidelines
All images must be emailed as a JPG file, with 72 to 150 dpi. We accept everything from photographs to paintings to collages as long as we can print it online. Please do NOT send us links to your online portfolio in lieu of a submission.
Short Comic Submission Guidelines
All comics must be ready to print. We cannot accept scripts, sketches, or proposals. Comics must tell a complete story. Though there is no specific length, ideally, we are looking for comics 15 pages or less. Please email all comics as a JPG file. Comics must be clear and readable in a digital format.
Flash Fiction Guidelines
Flash fiction submissions must tell a complete story in 700 words or less. Please include the title, your name or pseudonym, and the number of words on the first page and your name/pseudonym and page number on each page. All flash fiction pieces will be published on the blog, not in the magazine.
Simultaneous Submissions
We do not want any writer or artist to miss an opportunity. Therefore, we accept simultaneous submissions.
Response Time
Due to the large volume of submissions we receive, our response time varies.
Writer/Artist Compensation
Unfortunately, we can't offer any compensation for writers/artists at this time. But what we can offer is a beautiful byline and bragging rights.
Rights
Tainted Tea publishes First North American Serial Rights. However, the writer/artist's work will remain in the archives online for purchase.

Tainted Tea Sample Query Letter
Dear Mr. Toogood and Ms. Fossett:
Attached is my story, "The Real Thing," for
consideration for publication in Tainted Tea.
It is approximately 6,500 words, and is a short horror story
about a young writer, struggling with her prose, who discovers one of her
characters sitting in her apartment at three in the morning.
I am the editor of Tainted Tea. My articles have been published in The Temple News, Temple University's campus newspaper, and The
Compendium: Philly's Music News. My fiction
has never been previously published.
Also, this is a simultaneous submission, and I will inform
you if it is published elsewhere.
